Hello! :-) I'm so glad you stopped by Rambling Tart.
My name is Krista and I'm a 30-something Danish-Canadian lass. I am a writer, traveler, and cook, fledgling artist, sewer of quilts, and reader of books.
Writing: My first article was published when I was a 12-year-old girl living in Canada and dreaming of being a writer. Since then I've written for all sorts of projects and people from newspapers, magazines and books to prisoners, artists, and real estate agents. I've loved all of it, but my favorite things to write about are travel, food, and fascinating people.
Travel: I have been traveling and exploring for 18 years and love every amazing, embarrassing, and wonderful moment. I've traveled by train, boat, plane, foot, and car and each one has its own delights. I've lived on a boat in Russia, in an apartment in Portugal, and now make my home in beautiful Washington State, saving my pennies for my next trip.
Cooking: I am a simple girl at heart, equally happy sitting around a campfire roasting marshmallows or digging in to a 5-course dinner at a Parisian hotspot. While I don't mind cooking just for me, I find it way more fun to cook for my family and friends, everyone clustered around the kitchen counter nattering away while I stir, roast, and simmer.
Living: I love old books, classic movies, Bing Crosby, and going treasure hunting in thrift stores. Can't get enough of camping, hiking, and sitting by the ocean. And I'm never happier than when curled up in a comfy chair, coffee in hand, chatting away with a dear friend.
You: I look forward to getting to know you and hope we get to visit often as we share good food, great conversation, and the little things that make each of our lives worth living. :-)
